RESOURCE #2:

Full Body Workout From Home

This full body workout does not require equipment and it will have you feeling great for a couple days – go at your own pace and keep working every day to make yourself stronger. REST TIME RESOURCE: A press break to defeat a 2-2-1 press and a secondary break motion offense against any zone.

Please leave a comment on the video and let me know what you thought of the workout.

RESOURCE #3:

Connect With Your Players

I want you to write down one thing that you appreciate about each of your players. It does not have to be basketball-related, in fact, it’s better if it isn’t. It can be about leadership qualities, attitude, or even something you share in common.

Every successful coach has the ability to reach their players beyond basketball. This exercise is designed to build stronger relationships with your players.

Every person wants to be seen, heard and understood.

Your challenge is to now tell your players what you appreciate about them. To let them know that you see them, you hear them and you understand them.

Send a text, write a letter or let a parent or guardian know. Get that message to them any way you can – and be genuine.

Even the most difficult players have qualities you can appreciate when you sit to think about it.

Whether you are coaching these players again in the future or not, you’re still building relationships. You’re also flexing your appreciation muscles for next year when you can send these messages throughout the season.

It can be motivational to take time to appreciate the little things and reflect on positive memories.

RESOURCE #4:

Offense vs 2-3 Zone – Corners

Keys to success: ‘5’ must set an effective and stationary screen for ‘2’ and ‘2’ must be patient and wait for the screen to come. ‘4’ ducks under the zone into open space available for a pass. ‘3’ stays in the corner to occupy the bottom corner defender.

Elapsed Time: 5-10 seconds.

Helpful Drills: Reading Defense drills; Shooting drills; Finishing drills; Passing drills; Post Play drills.

RESOURCE #5:

Offense vs 3-2 Zone – 1-4 Set (option 2)

Keys to success: Your best shooter should be the ‘3’ which will give the best chance of pulling the bottom defender out and leaving ‘4’ and ‘5’ with a 2 on 1 opportunity against the other bottom defender. ‘3’ should be ready to shoot the ball if a defender does not come out to the corner.

Elapsed Time: 5-10 seconds.

Helpful Drills: Shooting drills; Finishing drills; Passing drills; Post Play drills.
