One Last Teaching Tip

One Last Teaching Tip

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking this course, I’d love to get your feedback on what you enjoyed and what I could have done better? Send feedback.

The last note I want to share… when you’re running your zone offenses in practice and teaching how to create and read mini advantages you may feel compelled to blow your whistle every time you see a teaching point. I would caution against that. In the beginning phases of learning mini advantages you stop practices more often to teach, but eventually you will have to let your players make their mistakes and keep the flow of the practice going. Find a quiet time to correct them if needed, focus on those two talking points… did that movement create a mini advantage for us? And was it done quickly?

The biggest gains in terms of learning and understanding happen through repetition, making mistakes and repetition again. Tough to get lots of reps when practice is stopped all the time.

Best of luck and please let me know how your team progresses. I enjoy hearing about player and team improvement!
