Paul Weir, New Mexico State University
On the show today is Paul Weir. Coach Weir was recently named the head coach of the men’s basketball program at New Mexico State University. He will become only the third Canadian born head coach of an NCAA division 1 men’s basketball team and the first in over 50 years. This is another big step for Canadian basketball and as you’ll hear in the interview although Paul Weir has been coaching in the States for many years he still maintains his Canadian roots.
He also has a fascinating desire to constantly better himself, whether it’s through education or coaching experiences, no doubt this is one of the big reasons he has risen through the coaching ranks so quickly.
