Coach Rana started out as a high school coach at a couple different schools, one of them being Eastern Commerce high school where he won multiple provincial titles in his nine years there. As a university coach he has built the Ryerson Rams into a national powerhouse in the six years he’s been the head coach. This season he is returning from a one year sabbatical where he got a chance to spend more time with his family and coach his children.

This past summer he coached the Canadian national junior team to a silver medal at the under 18 FIBA championships in Chile.

He also had a great experience shadowing the Atlanta Hawks franchise during the NBA summer league.

He’s also coached the World Team at the Nike Hoop Summit for six years coaching for and against some of the biggest names in the NCAA and NBA.

In this episode Coach Rana shares some great insights about starting a basketball program, the importance of building genuine relationships and he reflects on a couple of his coaching mentors and his great experiences this summer.
